Description: The Pandan village is located in Rembang regency.
The word ‘Pandan’ itself means such a kind of leave which smell good and it also can be used to make a plaited mat. This village provides a natural scenery and far away from pollution. By this project, as a pilot project in elementary school in Rembang regency can give some contributions in educational program and give a good effect for the development of this village. The foundation wishes to introduce and give new improving program to the social community and keep providing assistance to local village and inhabitants, while promoting international solidarity and intercultural encounter. In this sense it would like to involve international volunteers both in renovating the area and education in the local instance.
Work: The volunteers will do renovation paint in local school and be involved in educational activities with children (they will mainly teach English and basic hygiene practices like cleaning hands, cutting nail). The school will be in Pandan Elementary School with around 100 students and 10 local teachers. Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Leisure Time: During the free time, the volunteers may also visit Goa Akbar (Big Cave) and Goa Maharani (Maharani Cave) which have own characteristics from the other tourism. Near these caves, there is tourism object called Wisata Bahari Lamongan (the object lies along the beach which is completed with some interesting game, performance and swimming pool).
Accomodation: Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in Indonesian host families (basic conditions, sleeping bag and mat needed) and cook their own meals. Location: Pandan village with around 2000 population lies close to North Coast and the north part of Java Island. It is a small village about 3 kilometers from the city centre. Most of villagers live as farmers and some as traders. Their main products are corn and rice. They are also raise cows and fowls. Some of the inhabitants are as a seller of Lontong Tuyuhan (The Special Food) which is popular in this regency and surrounded. This village has good road with mountain and farm sceneries surround it. The village is about 120 kms away from Semarang city. Terminal: Semarang airport, railway station

Language camp - Semarang

Description: Semarang is located on the northern coast of Java.
The northern part of the city is built on the coastal plain while the southern parts, known as Candi Lama and Candi Baru, are on higher ground. Two rivers run through the city, one on the east side and one through the west side, essentially dividing the city into thirds. The population of Semarang is predominantly Javanese, though with smaller numbers of people from many regions in Indonesia. The city is known for its large ethnically Chinese population. The main languages spoken are Indonesian and Javanese. Sometimes Hokkien Chinese or Mandarin is spoken among the Chinese minority. Semarang is home to several notable universities and high schools. A notable state-owned university at Semarang is Diponegoro University and Semarang State University. Other notable universities areSoegijapranata Catholic University and Sultan Agung Islamic University. As a result of its large ethnically Chinese population, the city boasts several Chinese temples. These include Sam Po Kong (Gedung Batu), built in honour of the Chinese Great Admiral Zheng He who visited the area in 1405, and Tay Kak Sie Temple. Blenduk Church, a 1753 Protestant church built by the Dutch, is located in the old town (called "Oudstad"). Tugu Muda (Youth Monument), a monument to heroes of Indonesia's independence struggle, is located in a large roundabout surrounded by famous buildings such as Gedung Lawang Sewu and the Semarang Cathedral. Jalan Pemuda, one of the roads leading into the roundabout, is a major shopping street. The Cathedral of the Holy Rosary is the seat of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Semarang.
Work: This program covers intensive language classes and cultural activities to enhance participant’s learning motivation and skills. It is designed to improve the participant’s inter-cultural competencies through the language class, the traditional dancing class, Indonesia culture exploration, and various interesting programs. The participants will communicate with locals in Indonesian daily and be immersed in an Indonesian-speaking community. Besides, the participants will also do a school/university visit to exchange activities and culture with the students. Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen. Leisure Time: During free time, the volunteers will have the chance to visit Semarang city, Samp Poo Kong Chinese Temple, Lawang Sewu Building and Gedong Songo Hindus Temples.
Accomodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in the host family (basic conditions, sleeping bag and mat needed) and cook their own meal. Location: This work camp will be held in Semaran

Wonosobo Project - Wonosobo

Description: Wonosobo is located 12 kms southern away from semarang, the capital city of Central java.
It is surround by mountain, Sindoro, Sumbing Mountain, Dieng Highland and Prahu Mountain, so the local people works in agriculture, planting some vegetables, fruit, etc. Because of living in slope of the mountain, so the weather there are so cold. Our project will cooperate with local elementary school. Dejavato decided to support the educational development of the children and the youngsters of Wonosobo by supporting the local school and providing different courses (English, hygiene, environmental education, etc). Through this project, the volunteers will support the local development and educational program of Dejavato.
Work: The volunteer will teach students simple basic English and introduce some English kids songs. The volunteers will also do simple renovation to the school such as making bookshelf for a library or painting the classroom. They will l also involved in other activities like culture exchange and playing with the kids. Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen. Leisure Time: During the free time, the volunteers may visit Dieng Plateau and feel the fresh air on the slope of the mountain.

Purworejo project - Purworejo

Description: Purworejo is located in the southernmost part of Central java, so the southern part of this city is lowland and eastern part is highland. Because of this situation, the community in south of the city live near the beach, and the eastern community work as a farmer, or gardener.
The main commodities are rice, corn, etc. This project focuses in one of elementary school in Purworejo. This school is located in the centre of the village. Since this school is located in the village, this school has little chance to meet and interact with international volunteers. Therefore, workcamp project will give them opportunity to share and communicate with international volunteers. The activities in the project site are related to renovation of school facilities and educational to the local school there.
Work: In this workcamp, the volunteer will do some tasks related to Renovation and Education, they will paint some facilities in that local school like painting the wall, making book-shelf, etc. Also they will take part in teaching the elementary students especially basic English. So they will be motivated in learning English at school. Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen. Leisure Time: During the free time, volunteer will have a chance to visit Borobudur Temple or Jogjakarta.

Family Project - Kalimendong

Description: Kalimendong is small village located in Wonosobo Regency.
Wonosobo is located 12 kms southern away from semarang, the capital city of Central java. It is surround by mountain, Sindoro, Sumbing Mountain, Dieng Highland and Prahu Mountain, so the local people works in agriculture, planting some vegetables, fruit, etc. Because of living in slope of the mountain, so the weather there are so cold. This project is in cooperation with local community centre called “LMDH Kalimendong”. This community centre is actively doing some activities together with local people aiming to support local people’s income. This centre created some program dedicated for local people such as agriculture, fishery and livestock. There are also some others activities performed by local people to promote and improve their village such as by making some home industries. There are some home industries in Kalimendong Village such as coconut sugar and traditional snacks. Through this project, the volunteers will experience local tradition and customs whish are very unique and interesting.
Work: The volunteer will have various activities together with this “LMDH” and local people. Volunteer will work in farm where “salak” Indonesian fruit are taken care. In the farm volunteers will work for cleaning and harvesting “salak”. Moreover, volunteers will have a chance to experience in looking after cattle (goat) with local people which are belong to the centre. Volunteer will preparing the food as well as feeding the cattle. Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the Javanese particularities. Some cultural visits are also foreseen. Winong Project - Wiong Village

Description: MTs Winong was founded in 1980 which is located in Wiong Village – Pati Regency.
MTS Winong is kind of junior high school which runs based on islamic paradigma. The students learn about social and science subject including English subject. Beside fomal subjectS, the students also have extra lesson which are reading and learning the Holy Qur’an. In accomodating students hobby and creativity, the school also have several clubs which are red cross, boys and girls scout, sport, handicraft and multimedia (computer). In recent years, MTS Winong started to held immersion class. This immersion class employs English as major of class learning communication. This special class obliges the students and teachers have better understanding in English language. Therefore, the participation volunteer from abroad is regarded usefull in motivating the students as well as the teachers in active on English. Through voluntary service activity, they would like to host foreign volunteers. Because we believe that their interaction with the children, during education and vocational classes and other activities like fun English will be of great benefit as their students have little or no chances to meet and live with people from other cultures. The intercultural dimension that they presence, would also be welcomed and valued by their school community. The support that the volunteers will give to their teacher, particularly those English teachers, will be invaluable. Moreover, this project is also aimed to accommodate motivated volunteer to preserve living in Asian culture in general and Indonesian culture in specific. Furthermore, it also gives opportunity to the volunteers to contribute her/his skill and knowledge on the educational field.

Elephant Consrv. Project - Bengkulu

Description: Bengkulu (also known as Southwest Sumatra) is a province of Indonesia.
It is on the southwest coast of the island of Sumatra, and borders the provinces of West Sumatra, Jambi, South Sumatra and Lampung. The number of population in this province is approximately 1, 4 million. The capital and largest city of the province is Bengkulu city. Fishing, especially of tuna and mackerel, is an important activity. Agricultural products exported by the province include ginger, bamboo shoots, and rubber. This project is aiming to assist local community centre in looking after elephants. In the morning volunteers will have various activities such as planting bamboo trees, wild grass and other plants for food supply during the dry season. While in the afternoon, volunteer will have the opportunity to learn to control the elephants under the expert guide. Moreover, volunteers will also take the elephant down to the river for bath. This project will offers you unforgettable and amazing moment in for the rest of your life.
Work: volunteers will starts the activities in the morning at 8.30 with various programs, starting with planting some trees, feeding, and also taking them to the river for bath. Volunteers will l also involved in other activities like culture exchange and playing with the kids. Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the Indonesian culture and customs in general, with a special focus on the local tradition and customs. Some cultural visits are also foreseen. Leisure Time: During the free time, the volunteers may visit some historical building in Bengkulu called “Marlborough Fortress” which is restored and opened to the public in 1984 after a long period of use by Indonesian Army.
